Skorpion 550 RB is designed for shredding tree limbs, trunks/stubs and sawmill waste with diameter of up to 350 mm. This is a drum model made as a trailer, meant for collaboration with a 180 hp farm tractor. The drive is transmitted from PTO shaft of tractor with the speed of 1000 revolutions per minute. The construction of the chipper is set on double-axial chassis, equipped with a pneumatic braking system that enables the device to tow it behind a vehicle with speed to 80 km/h.
The cutting system which includes 12 cutting blades installed on the drum, and a screen ensures high regularity if chips. Chips are ejected with a fan through a rotary chimney equipped with a deflector, and enabling loading the chips on a trailer.
The essential equipment of the chipper includes a hydraulic system of feeding driven by its own hydraulic pump, and consisting of an upper feeding roller and a lower track chain feeder.
Due to large size of the material to be chipped, the machine has been equipped with a hydraulic vehicle-mounted crane. The chipper is also equipped with an electronic system of work control, automatically protecting the propulsion system of the machine against overload/excessive duty through temporary stopping the feeding unit.
Chips made by Skorpion 550 RB can be used as a solid fuel for heating in buildings (burning in ovens/stoves), as a raw material for production of paper, furniture chipboards, for decorative purposes in gardens, parks, etc., and after additional disintegrating in a hammer grinder for pellets and briquettes production.
